About PilotKeys
PilotKeys is a free replica of the scientific calculator that appears on screen in the pilot theory exams in Spain (PPL, CPL, ATPL, IR and ratings), built so you can practise with it before exam day.
Why it exists
In the exam you cannot use any calculator other than the one on the computer, and that calculator has habits of its own: its keypad is upside down compared with a phone, it glues sine and cosine results onto numbers instead of adding them, it groups some subtractions wrongly and it freezes once you stack twelve operations. Each of those quirks can cost you a question. SENASA publishes a demo, but with no explanations and no way to train with exercises. PilotKeys reproduces the calculator key by key and adds what is missing: your formula as the calculator understands it, warnings when you type something in an order that does not work, worked examples, golden rules and a timed training mode.
How we know it behaves the same
We do not take it on trust: we compare 597 key sequences, screen by screen, against the official demo calculator, and we publish the full table on the verification page. If SENASA changes its calculator, we run the comparison again.
Who is behind it
It is a personal, independent project with no connection to SENASA or AESA. Their names appear only to explain which exam the practice is for. Official exam information is whatever they publish; the home page links to the sources we use.
How it is funded
The site is free and asks for no sign-up. To cover the domain and hosting it may show Google AdSense ads, always well away from the calculator keys. Your calculations never leave your device; what is stored and what is not is explained in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
